Lake Wakatipu Cruise Options

Most visitors to Queenstown have heard of, or seen, the historic TSS Earnslaw steam ship. Whether you start the Around the Mountains trail from Kingston or Walter Peak, you will need to sail across Lake Wakatipu yet the TSS Earnslaw isn’t the only option. There are 2 main cruise options that cross the Lake from Queenstown:

The Lady of the Lake, as she is known locally, sails to Walter Peak Station with plenty of time to explore this piece of Queenstown’s living history. You can visit the engine room and see its giant steam engines at work, view the collection of historical photos in our mini-museum, check out the bridge or even join a sing-along with the pianist.

She is now over 100 years old…
